POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Director Sustainability & Resilience, the Sustainability and Resilience Reporting Analyst is responsible for data collection, data integrity, analysis, auditing, research, and report writing to support work and policies related to sustainability and resilience for the Commission.
The position provides analytical support and research on sustainability and resilience initiatives as stated but not limited to BC Housings Service Plan and BC Housings Sustainability and Resilience Strategy, and best practices in these areas.
He/she/they ensures the Commission meets its Climate Change Accountability Act reporting and verification obligations and other provincial and national requirements.
The position delivers research and analytical projects, and provides other support, relating to transitioning social housing and the residential construction industry towards sustainability and resilience. CANDIDATE PROFILE The successful candidate will have the following: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Geography or a related discipline.
Considerable experience in research, report writing and developing research methodologies.
Some experience in sustainability and resilience program evaluation.
Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the Employer. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Considerable knowledge of Greenhouse Gas reporting protocols such as the GHG Protocol A Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard, ISO 14064 or the Climate Registry Considerable knowledge with environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting frameworks such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)
Considerable knowledge of the current sustainability trends with regards to climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Considerable knowledge of sustainability reporting best practices and guidelines, such as Global Reporting Initiative Some knowledge of green building trends and technologies.
Ability to communicate data in a way that is engaging to a broad audience and effectively relates data to coworkers and other stakeholders.
Ability to be detail oriented and pay attention to small details (e.g. numerical accuracy) that could impact results.
Ability to analyze methodologies to identify errors and make corrections.
Ability to demonstrate a high level of self-awareness, empathy and emotional intelligence.
Ability to learn and understand the affordable housing sector in the province of BC.
Ability to learn and understand BC Housings mandates and commitments with regards to housing, sustainability, Reconciliation, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging.
Ability to be sensitive to the diverse perspectives of stakeholders and works with them to resolve differences and work cohesively together.
Ability to learn and understand the concepts of institutional and structural exclusion and bias and how these impact underserved and underrepresented communities.
Strategic and analytical thinking, problem solving abilities, and organizational and time management skills Demonstrated strong skilled and interpersonal communication skills across a range of channels (written, oral, other) and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional groups to achieve common goals.
