Elevate agricultural research with Olds College of Agriculture & Technology as a full time Research Technician. Support scientific experiments both indoors and outdoors, while managing data and training others.
This full-time Research Technician position is integral to the OCCI crops team. Your responsibilities will encompass planning, executing, and managing applied research studies in various environments like labs, greenhouses, and on agricultural plots. You'll assist in crucial data handling, analyses, and report writing to disseminate findings to stakeholders in agriculture and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and execute field-based research experiments
• Contribute to developing research protocols and procedures
• Manage data collection, storage, and organization
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate agronomic research equipment
• Prepare technical documents for stakeholders and funding
Requirements:
• Two years of post-secondary education in Agriculture or related field
• Class 5 driver's license and Pesticide Applicator License
• Two years of fieldwork or research experience
• Familiarity with various agricultural equipment
• Strong communication skills for teamwork
