Take your media expertise to the next level with UGM as a Specialist in Media Relations. This full time role focuses on enhancing UGM's visibility and mission through strategic communications.

Reporting to the Manager, Media Relations & Communications, you will lead media campaigns, including Major Meals. Your role involves developing relationships with media outlets, managing communications projects, and serving as a key spokesperson. You'll play a pivotal part in promoting UGM’s work addressing poverty and homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare messaging for proactive issues management
• Advise UGM leadership on media and messaging
• Develop, pitch, and coordinate targeted media campaigns
• Participate in ongoing media monitoring and reporting
• Collaborate on communications strategies across media channels

Requirements:
• Three years of experience in journalism or communications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with project management tools
• A second language is an asset
• Public Relations accreditation is a plus
