This role focuses on serving those underserved by conventional support systems. The Peer Support Specialist will use their personal journey to mentor clients through skill development, community engagement, and housing stability. Your collaborative work with the PSH team will enhance the recovery process for individuals returning from Illinois prisons.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct support in achieving client service plans
• Coach clients on daily living and communication skills
• Promote community engagement and meaningful activities
• Reinforce understanding of tenant rights and responsibilities
• Participate in outreach to clients needing additional support
Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED necessary
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
• Relevant experience in facilitating group discussions
• Robust interpersonal and communication skills
• Capability to manage time effectively
