- Work closely with mining clients and technical teams on projects
- Support the mine planning team and other technical disciplines by providing guidance, training, and mentorship
- Promote a culture of safety and well-being
- Utilize understanding of mining engineering principles to aid in creating design surfaces, schedules, and cost estimates
- Support proposal development process by outlining work scopes and estimating project schedules and costs
- Prepare, review, and authenticate advanced technical documentation and reports
- Oversee budget, scope, and schedule of projects
- Facilitate workshops and conduct risk assessments with stakeholders
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients
Requirements
- Knowledge of mine planning first principles
- Experience in mine and/or tailings planning
- Experience in the operational or closure phases within the mining industry
- Familiarity with regulatory and legislative frameworks
- Robust project management skills
- Skills in mine planning software (Hexagon MinePlan and/or Deswik, CAD)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel for workshops, client meetings, and site visits
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
- Registered as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with APEGA or capable of transferring from another jurisdiction
