The Principal AI Engineer (Platform) is responsible for leading the engineering execution and delivery of technology solutions that support our banking client''s AI platform.

This role ensures the timely delivery, quality, resiliency, and operational excellence of AI platform capabilities that support applications, processes and client journeys for our client.

The Principal AI Engineer partners closely with business and product leads to align on requirements and priorities, delivering technical solutions that support strategic business outcomes.

Reporting to the Head, Data and AI Platforms, this role plays a key part in translating vision into executable plans and ensuring those plans are delivered with a high level of quality, stability, and stakeholder alignment.

Accountabilities Lead the engineering delivery of our client''s enterprise AI platform, including MLOps/LLMOps, model training, deployment, monitoring, governance, and scalable AI infrastructure.

Define the technical vision and architecture for Generative AI, RAG, context engineering, intelligent agents, and large-scale AI platform capabilities.

Partner with technology, data, analytics, risk, and business leaders to align AI platform strategy with business objectives.

Drive the AI platform roadmap from strategy through implementation, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.

Lead large-scale engineering initiatives, overseeing planning, development, testing, deployment, and operational support.





Collaborate with data platform and AI development teams to optimize feature stores, data products, and AI/ML training and inference capabilities.

Champion engineering excellence across platform architecture, Dev

Ops, CI/CD, observability, automation, reliability, and incident management.

Ensure platform resilience, governance, security, and operational readiness through proactive monitoring and continuous improvement.

Mentor technical leads and engineers while driving technical standards and contributing to engineering leadership across the organization.

Responsibilities University degree in Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Technology, or relevant work experience 12+ years of Software/Data/ML/AI Engineering experience with a minimum of 6 years designing AI Platforms for large, complex enterprise applications 4+ years of experience in a senior engineering role, e.g. as a Staff+ Engineer Experience as a technical leader for large technology programs and initiatives Significant experience delivering complex, high-availability ML/AI platforms at scale.

Hands on experience with Machine Learning, Generative AI, Agentic AI, RAG pipelines, and feature stores.

Deep experience with cloud native AI/ML stacks (GCP/Azure/AWS), container orchestration (Kubernetes) and up-to-date AI platforms Ability to collaborate across team and organizational boundaries, build relationships, and achieve broader organizational goals.

Strong knowledge of AI governance, compliance, security and reliability best practices for enterprise environments
