Work Term: Permanent Work Language: English Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years or equivalent experience Work setting Bake shop Large volume bakery Tasks Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders Prepare pastry for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays Bake mixed dough and batters Prepare special orders Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards Inspect kitchen and food service areas Operate machinery Organize and maintain inventory Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses Baker Trade Certification Cuisine specialties Gluten-free Vegan Food specialties Breads and rolls Desserts and pastries Donuts and muffins Cake decorating Chocolate Security and safety Bondable Transportation/travel information Public transportation is available Work conditions and physical capabilities Ability to distinguish between colours Attention to detail Quick-paced environment Hand-eye co-ordination Handling heavy loads Manual dexterity Physically demanding Repetitive tasks Standing for extended periods Tight deadlines Work under pressure Personal suitability Accurate Client focus Dependability Excellent oral communication Judgement Reliability Team player Patience Screening questions Are you available for shift or on-call work?
