Join Bearspaw Lodge as a Youth Support Worker, providing trauma-informed care to justice-involved male youth in St. Albert, Alberta. Deliver skilled support for mental health and substance use challenges while fostering stability and accountability.
This part-time role requires expertise in managing complex mental health issues such as schizophrenia and severe anxiety. You will work effectively with youth who engage in high-risk behaviors, employing de-escalation strategies and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities: • Provide direct,
trauma-informed residential support to youth • Implement individualized support plans and interventions • Support daily living activities and medication administration • De-escalate high emotional and behavioral episodes • Accompany youth to medical and psychological appointments
Requirements: • Minimum 2 years in youth care facility setting • Experience with mental health disorders and addiction support • Knowledge of Indigenous culture and traditions • Mental Health First Aid certification • Explicit police and child intervention checks
