Join Queen's University as a Departmental Assistant in the Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre. Deliver crucial administrative and financial support to promote Indigenous student development.
As a key contributor to the Four Directions Centre, your role involves managing administrative tasks, from supporting the Director to facilitating communications and event planning. You'll also handle accounting duties, ensuring smooth operations in support of Indigenous students’ diverse needs. Ideal candidates will have a strong connection to Indigenous communities and a commitment to creating an inclusive workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as primary point of contact for departmental inquiries
• Conduct bookkeeping activities including invoicing and reconciliations
• Assist in planning and scheduling departmental events
• Order necessary office supplies and manage expenses
• Handle payroll and hiring processes for casual staff
Requirements:
• Required Two-Year Community College Diploma
• Preferably 1-2 years of administrative experience
• Experience working with Indigenous groups favored
• Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening mandatory
