Take on a meaningful role as a Full-Time Policy Development Manager with the Council of the Haida Nation in Masset, Haida Gwaii. Your expertise in policy analysis and collaboration will support the Haida community's well-being.
As the Policy Development Manager, you will oversee the research and development of policies that address crucial community issues. This full-time role involves assessing existing policies and drafting new ones while engaging with various stakeholders. Your responsibilities include providing technical support, managing databases, and coordinating with team members to ensure successful policy implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify and research emerging policy needs and options
• Collect and analyze relevant data and materials
• Maintain a comprehensive policy information database
• Collaborate with staff and elected officials on policy matters
• Supervise and guide departmental staff in their duties
Requirements:
• Some post-secondary education or relevant experience
• Background in First Nations governance or policy development
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Detail-oriented with robust analytical capabilities
• Experience with Haida culture preferred
