Work arrangements for the position can be hybrid work arrangements from their St. John's office, with frequent travel to the iron ore mine in Wabush, NL, or for in-office positions in Wabush, with relocation assistance provide for non-locals to area.Position Summary:Tacora Resources Inc. You will be provided with the opportunity to expand your knowledge and skillset by working alongside dedicated employees from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.Job Responsibilities:Leads and supports the electrical aspects of projects and scopes of work from concept through to commissioningCreates and issues sketches and designs for in field use for any modifications to equipmentDevelop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resourcesCoordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure troubleshooting and recommended solutions are implemented and achieving desired outcomesCreate and review electrical designs, ensuring compliance with relevant engineering codes, standards, and regulationsConduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical evaluations of design optionsDesign and specify electrical systems including substations, switchgear, MCCs, power distribution, lighting,
and grounding systemsDevelop single-line diagrams, cable schedules, load studies, and protection coordination studies Evaluate supplier proposals and assist in procurement decisionsLiaise with vendors and manufacturers to ensure design intent and quality requirements are metProvide on-site engineering support, including field inspections to resolve site technical issuesEnsure all electrical designs and site activities comply with HSE regulations, promoting a strong safety culture within the engineering and site teamsMentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and leadershipPrepare and present technical reports, progress updates, and project documentationIdentify opportunities for design optimization, cost savings, and innovationRecommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctionsReview and approve electrical construction drawings and documentsOther tasks and duties as requiredSkills and Qualifications:The candidate must possess a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years experience, preferably in the mining sectorThe candidate must be registered as a Professional Engineer in the province of Newfoundland and LabradorExcellent interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skillsAlignment with Tacora's core valuesSelf-started and action-orientedEager to contribute to the teams' successValid Class 5 Driver's License (Required)This opportunity is only available for candidates legally entitled to work in Canada. #J-18808-Ljbffr
