The City of Campbell River seeks an Auxiliary Animal Control Officer for part-time roles. Engage with the community to enhance pet ownership education and support local bylaws.

In this flexible, on-call position, you will report to the Bylaw Services Manager, enriching public understanding through inspections and regulatory work. The job demands independent judgment and strong communication skills while fostering public relations. Adjust to various shifts, including evenings and weekends, ensuring a dynamic work workplace.

Key Responsibilities:
• Educate the community on pet ownership responsibilities
• Conduct inspections and investigations of animal control issues
• Work collaboratively with Bylaw Enforcement Officers
• Manage administrative tasks related to enforcement
• Maintain interaction with the public in a tactful manner

Requirements:
• Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Completion of Bylaw Compliance Training
• Valid BC driver’s licence and a clean driving record
• Conflict resolution training completion
• Occupational First Aid Level 1 certification

Support community safety and compliance in Campbell River through your expertise in animal control.
