*One-Year Term with possibility of extension* Why work with us: The Family Centre is currently looking for an individual interested in working with children and youth as a Success Coach in a school setting.
We are focused on Trauma-Informed Care for both our communities and staff, and provide services based on research and evidence-based practices.

What you will be doing: Success Coaches support children and youth to increase their social-emotional capacity, strengthen resilience, nurture connections, and see themselves as having the potential for success in school and life.
You will also play a role in the community by enhancing connections to resources and encouraging children and youth to positively engage within their community.
Meet with students 1:1 and develop goals targeted at increasing their natural supports, building supporting relationships, and to aim to reduce sources of stress while strengthening core skills Engage caregivers to participate and support their child or youths goal(s), healthy development,
positive experiences in school and connections with family Combine the needs of the school with your skill set to develop and facilitate engaging group programming for students Support youth to develop a positive identity and cultural awareness Provide opportunities for youth who otherwise may be unable to participate in healthy activities over the summer Promote a healthy view of education, support major educational transitions and explore future career pathways What you will bring to the role: Degree in Child & Youth Care, Social Work (or) Degree in Human Services (Psychology, Sociology, Education, Human Ecology or Early Childhood Development) with experience in the field (or) Diploma in Child & Youth Care or Social Work with related experience Proficient communication, caseload management, and facilitation skills Experience working with diverse populations Background Check Process & Requirements: As a part of the selection process, The Family Centre will conduct reference checks with your most recent employers.
Police Information Check -Vulnerable Sector (completed within the last 6 months Child Intervention Record Check (completed within the last 6 months) Registration with a professional body, if eligible (such as RSW) $2 million vehicle liability insurance Reliable vehicle, available for regular use and valid drivers license 5-year Drivers Abstract Our Children Are Sacred Youth Suicide Prevention Training or ASIST Suicide Intervention Training within 3 months of start date Standard First Aid Level C CPR within 3 months of start date What you can expect:
