LDAYukon is looking for Math Tutors in Whitehorse to provide in-person tutoring to students in need. Bring your math skills to support learning and boost confidence casually.
This role is for tutors who have the flexibility to work around students’ schedules. You'll focus primarily on managing homework and identifying any gaps in understanding, guiding students towards mastery. Positive reinforcement and a personalized approach to teaching are essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Tutor students individually in core math concepts
• Assess and address learning gaps effectively
• Assist with homework completion and understanding
• Offer encouragement to build student confidence
• Conduct sessions primarily between 3:15 and 6pm
Requirements:
• Residence in Whitehorse or surrounding areas
• Robust foundational math skills
• Encouraging and affirmative teaching style
• Teaching degree holders preferred for higher fees
• Casual position, not part-time or full-time
