The YWCA Hamilton invites applications for three part-time Women’s Advocate positions focused on supporting gender-diverse clients in their journey toward independence. Key responsibilities include crisis intervention, daily support, and advocacy within the Transitional Living program. You will work closely with individuals to assess needs and foster safe living environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate effective shelter operations and client goals
• Conduct assessments and intake for current clients
• Keep accurate records in line with departmental policy
• Liaise with external community service providers
• Lead programming aimed at enhancing social skills
Requirements:
• Completion of relevant college courses
• Experience in crisis management preferred
• Understanding of complex barriers faced by women
• Willingness to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Police check
• Knowledge of community resources can enhance effectiveness
