Director, IT Operations Skilled TradesBC is shaping the future of British Columbia's skilled trades workforce at a time when tradespeople are essential to the province's economic growth, infrastructure, housing and clean-energy priorities. As the organization responsible for leading and coordinating B.C.'s skilled trades system, Skilled TradesBC works with employers, employees, industry, labour, training providers, Indigenous communities and government to expand opportunity, strengthen training pathways, and promote the value of skilled trades careers across the province.

Through apprenticeships, program funding, credentials, training standards and Skilled Trades Certification, Skilled TradesBC helps ensure B.C. has the skilled tradespeople needed now and into the future. The Director, IT Operations provides senior leadership and operational oversight for Skilled TradesBC's information technology function. The role is accountable for the day-to-day reliability, security and performance of enterprise systems, infrastructure and vendor-supported services.

The Director owns IT service delivery, system maintenance, cybersecurity operations, incident and problem management, and business support. The Director, IT Operations ensures that new initiatives are operationalized with the documentation and support model needed to run reliably, and that they are maintained and sustained effectively once implemented,



while day-to-day technology needs across the organization continue to be met securely and reliably.

The ideal candidate is an experienced IT operations leader with a strong track record of overseeing reliable, secure and customer-focused technology services for the organization. The candidate brings operational discipline, sound judgment, and systems perspective needed to support enterprise platforms, service delivery and ongoing business needs, with experience leading system implementations or digital transformation as a strong asset.

The Director brings a sophisticated understanding of IT as a strategic business enabler, aligning technology investments with operational excellence, innovation, and long-term organizational goals. An influential and collaborative leader, they build strong partnerships, inspire high-performing teams, and navigate complex stakeholder environments with confidence and diplomacy.

The targeted salary for this position is $150,000 annually, supplemented by a competitive total rewards package.
