Position Summary
BCIT's School of Transportation is seeking a three (3) regular, full-time (1.0 FTE ) Faculty, Auto Service Technicians to teach in the Automotive Program at our Burnaby campus.
Duties & Responsibilities
Teaching, evaluation, and preparation for both online remote delivery and in-person delivery.
Administrative responsibilities, including assignments, examination marking and student marking.
Curriculum maintenance and program enhancement.
Administrative processes required to ensure appropriate resources are in place to deliver training.
Working collaboratively with other instructors, Department Heads, and Associate Dean.
Other duties directly related to the support and delivery of the programs.
Short-term coverage for full-time faculty release.
Preparing for classroom presentations and practical demonstrations.
Qualifications
Must have a Red Seal Endorsement in Automotive Service Technician for a minimum of 5 years.
Demonstrated knowledge and practical skills necessary to instruct the curriculum.
Demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collegial manner within a team.
Demonstrated ability to develop course resources and training technologies.
Current computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Power Point and a Learning management system ( LMS ): ability to manage files located on a database.
Provincial Instructor Diploma or previous post-secondary instructing experience is an asset.
Supervisory experience an asset.
Preference will be given to applicants who have the following: Completion of a Provincial Instructor Diploma

Preparing and delivering Flexible Learning courses

Salary Range
Salary Range Salary Range: $82,891 - $122,857 per annum.
