This diverse team of professionals are dedicated to exceeding clients’ unique needs within a rapidly evolving business and financial reporting landscape. As a trusted advisor, you’ll collaborate on a range of technical projects, such as new accounting standard implementation, acquisition accounting, revenue recognition, complex transaction accounting and initial public offering (IPO) readiness.MNP is proudly Canadian. Entrepreneurial to our core, our talented team members transcend obstacles into opportunities and are successfully transforming mid-market business practices.ResponsibilitiesProvide technical accounting advisory services, including understanding and addressing the implications of significant transactions, new accounting standards, and frameworks on financial reporting mandates and business objectivesSupport clients in their go-public journey, including developing go-public strategies, establishing milestones and deliverables, and preparing financial information for regulatory compliancePerform technical accounting research, prepare documentation for clients, and identify accounting issues within contracts and agreementsMentor,



motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and addressing performance issues promptlyPrepare financial statements and corresponding notesApply knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE)Collaborate with MNP’s Corporate Finance, Tax, Valuation, Forensics, and Litigation Support teams to offer comprehensive, collaborative servicesUpdate senior manager or engagement partner on the progress of engagementsPrepare skilled correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining findings, facts and highlights resulting from the client engagementDevelop and maintain relationships with client managementDevelop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses and industryContribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processesLead engagement teams while coaching and mentoring team membersAttend internal MNP courses to further develop accounting knowledgePromote regular attendance, balanced lifestyle and high standard of team wellnessConduct formal,



written annual performance reviewsRaise awareness of MNP through discussions at community events including client and company sponsored functionsNetwork in the local business community and consider business development opportunitiesSkills And ExperienceCompletion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation4 to 6 years of relevant work experience in public accountingExperience in auditing public companies in Canada or in the USExtensive knowledge of and experience working with US GAAP, IFRS and ASPE accounting standardsExperience leading, managing and mentoring team membersExperience leading client engagements and interacting directly with clientsExperience with proposals and business developmentExperience dealing with Canadian and US securities regulators is an assetSolid understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principlesStrong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointSome travel may be requiredMyRewards@MNPWith a focus on high-potential earnings, MNP is proud to offer customized rewards that support our unique culture and a balanced lifestyle to thrive at work and outside of the office.
