Job SummaryThe Manager, Flight Operations Training & Recruitment provides strategic and operational leadership for pilot training and recruitment across all Porter Airlines fleets. This role is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, delivery, and continuous improvement of training and recruitment programs while ensuring consistency, standardization, and operational excellence.Leading a team of Standards Pilots and the Coordinator, Flight Operations Training & Recruitment, the Manager partners with Flight Operations, Crew Planning, Safety, People & Culture, and other key stakeholders to execute Porter Airlines' unified training strategy, support pilot recruitment initiatives, and deliver a high-performing training environment.The Manager ensures all training and recruitment activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and departmental objectives, while leveraging data, technology, and continuous improvement to support the organization's growth.Duties & ResponsibilitiesOversee the day-to-day delivery of pilot training and recruitment activities across all fleetsLead, coach, and support Standards Pilots and the Coordinator, Flight Operations Training & Recruitment, fostering instructor development, standardization, and continuous improvement across simulator, ground school, recruitment, line indoctrination, and pilot checking functionsDevelop, implement, and monitor operational controls, dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and data analytics to measure performance, leverage AI tools, and drive continuous improvement initiativesEnsure consistency and standardization across training programs, instructional practices, operational procedures, recruitment processes, and competency-based assessment standardsOversee the coordination of pilot recruitment activities, including assessments, simulator evaluations, interviews, hiring events, and recruitment-to-training timelines to support operational readiness and resource planningCoordinate training and recruitment activities with Flight Operations, Crew Planning, Safety, People & Culture,

and championing transformational change within the organization and beyond.QualificationsPost-secondary education in Aviation, Business, Training, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience5+ years of aviation training or related experienceStrong understanding of aviation training systems, regulatory requirements, and operational standardsExperience managing operational training activities within a regulated environment is considered an assetTechnical proficiency in spreadsheet development, reporting, and dashboard creation using Google Workspace, Tableau, or similar business intelligence toolsExperience leveraging data analysis to support operational decision-making and continuous improvementExperience in project management and leading cross-functional initiativesExperience using AI tools, including agentic AI, to enhance operational effectiveness and training outcomesExperience leading or supporting organizational change management initiatives and applying change management frameworksStrong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain exceptional attention to detail, exercise sound judgment, and take initiative in a fast-paced environmentProven resilience and ability to work effectively under pressure while balancing multiple projects and collaborating with diverse stakeholdersLocationToronto (Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport - YTZ) #LI-HybridCompany DescriptionSince 2006, Porter Airlines has been elevating the experience of economy air travel for every passenger, providing genuine hospitality with style, care and charm.
