Our client is looking for an accounting professional to join their team. This role reports to the Corporate Controller.
Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end close and prepare financial reporting packages
- Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Oversee Accounts Payable department, cash flow, and disbursements
- Assist with the preparation of divisional financial reports and analysis
- Support year-end audit and tax compliance (Canada and U.S.)
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Manage and develop a team of 3 direct reports
- Handle other ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications
- CPA designation (or near completion)
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in distribution or retail
- Strong technical accounting knowledge is a must
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Proficient in month-end close, reporting, and reconciliations
- Advanced Excel and ERP system experience
- Hands-on, Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting
