Business Technology Strategist (vCIO)

You are the person leaders turn to when the question is "What should we do next?" not "Can you fix this?" You connect business goals to technology decisions, you cut through unnecessary complexity, and you care about outcomes: higher productivity, lower risk, fewer surprises, and plans that deliver real results.

We are SolutionsIT, and we are hiring a Business Technology Strategist to lead technology planning for a group of client organizations, including some of our most established, governance-minded clients. These are organizations that already take technology seriously and expect a real strategic partner in the room, not just a status update. You work directly with owners, senior leadership, and boards, turn their goals into clear roadmaps and budgets, and drive execution through our service teams, project teams, and vendors. To your clients, you are their technology planning lead. Inside our company, you lead through clarity, influence, and follow-through.

This is not tech support, and it is not a sales role.

What you'll do:

- Build trusted relationships with owners, CEOs, senior leadership teams, and boards
- Turn business goals into 12 to 36 month roadmaps and lifecycle budgets
- Lead quarterly and annual strategy sessions and business reviews on a steady cadence
- Translate technology risk into plain language and real business impact
- Write board-ready summaries leaders can pick up and use as-is
- Bring practical governance thinking to the table: controls, audit readiness, and "what valuable looks like" without the bureaucracy
- Coordinate our service teams, project teams, and vendors so the roadmap gets delivered, not just discussed
- Reduce complexity by simplifying tools and standardizing what matters

What you bring:

We care more about your judgment and how you carry yourself with senior leaders than a perfect resume. You'll do well here if you:





- Are credible and calm in a boardroom, and can guide sharp decision-makers with confidence
- Write clearly and take pride in clean, board-ready communication
- Like standards and consistency because they create predictable results
- Can get things done through influence, without needing formal authority
- Have the experience to be trusted with mature, higher-stakes clients from early on
- Bring a learning mindset and ask positive questions

You do not need to be the deepest technician in the room. Our technical teams give you the substance, and you turn it into business-level strategy and recommendations. What matters most is business acumen, communication, and follow-through.

Not required, but a plus:

- Experience in IT leadership, consulting, managed IT, or client-facing strategy at a senior level
- A track record advising executives and boards through multi-year planning and budgets
- Experience coordinating teams and vendors to deliver outcomes
- A background in governance, audit, compliance, or risk, and a desire to build plans that lead to real change

Pay: $60,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
