The primary purpose of this position is to identify and coordinate services for consumers living with severe and persistent mental illness. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying and providing education and awareness initiatives on a variety of topics, specifically stigma. The incumbent will function as a member of an interdisciplinary team which provides a range of mental health and addiction services to the residents of St. Anthony & surrounding areas.QualificationsBachelor of Social Work requiredMinimum 2 years' experience in individual, family and group counseling, and community capacity buildingClinical education and experience pertinent to the mental/addictions health needs of individuals,



families and communitiesExperience in the development and delivery of education and training programsThe successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conductProof of registration with the appropriate regulatory associationMust possess a valid driver's license; use of private vehicleDuties and ResponsibilitiesProvides, comprehensive assessments and intensive treatment and intervention in the context of an interdisciplinary teamProvides crisis intervention and management, invoking Mental Health Care and Treatment Act provisions as requiredDevelops and facilitates education sessions related to Mental Health Care and Treatment ActProvides counseling to client including concurrent disorder and psychiatric rehabilitationMonitors clients for medications & treatment complianceAssumes a leadership role in discharge planning for current clients/inpatientsCompletes accurate and timely clinical documentation through the Client Referral Management SystemDevelops and facilitates linkages between provincial, regional and community-based resources and identified community mental health needsProvides consultative services to and works in collaboration with health care providers and a variety of Provincial and Federal Government Departments to provide mental health servicesFacilitates educational and training sessions to internal and internal and external partners as requiredAs a member of the Regional Mental Health and Addiction Services Team, provides support to other members of the interdisciplinary team, which may include providing coverage and/or traveling to various parts of the Region to assist with service deliveryMaintains a specialized level of knowledge and skill pertaining to cultural issues and mental health addictions treatmentParticipates in service planning as part of the interdisciplinary teamParticipates in clinical supervision and continuous quality improvement initiativesAs we continue to implement other recommendations from "Towards Recovery: The Mental Health and Addictions Action Plan for Newfoundland and Labrador", the incumbent will assume other responsibilitiesOther related duties as required #J-18808-Ljbffr
