Why the Role is Open:
Part of the Systematic Strategies Group’s continued buildout. The team is scaling to support modernization, performance, and automation initiatives across trading systems. This role complements the lead engineer position by focusing on Python-based development within the same platform.
What They Will Accomplish (High-Level):
- Contribute to the design, development, and optimization of systematic trading platforms
- Implement scalable and productive data and analytics solutions in Python
- Support system integration with AWS cloud infrastructure
- Ensure reliability, performance, and quality of production code
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Python-based trading and analytics applications
- Work with cloud infrastructure (AWS) for deployment and scalability
- Collaborate with the lead engineer, QA, and DevOps teams on feature delivery
- Assist in troubleshooting and performance optimization of production systems
- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Must-Haves:
- Knowledge of Capital Markets (public markets, FX, equities, derivatives, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Plusses / Nice-to-Haves:
- AWS cloud experience (deployment, scaling, architecture)
- Familiarity with Java, React, or DevOps pipelines
- Experience working in systematic or quantitative trading environments
