Senior Claims Adjuster, External Road – South Shore of Montreal

As a Senior Claims Adjuster, you will support clients through significant events by ensuring the rigorous, compassionate, and efficient handling of complex residential insurance claims.

Responsibilities

- Travel to loss sites to investigate claims, analyze circumstances, and negotiate settlements in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Handle complex residential insurance claims, including hidden defects, bodily injury cases, and losses exceeding $50,000.
- Coordinate the various stakeholders and experts involved in claims under your responsibility.
- Evaluate recovery opportunities, control damages, and validate claim eligibility based on applicable coverage.
- Negotiate settlements, prepare comprehensive reports within required timelines, and settle claims within your authority level.

Qualifications

- Recognized for excellent judgment, strong analytical skills, and keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated robust negotiation abilities and sound decision‑making skills in complex situations.
- Works autonomously, takes ownership, and excels at managing priorities.
- Known for a client‑focused approach, tact, diplomacy, and the ability to build trusting relationships.




- At least 10 years of experience as a field claims adjuster.
- College Diploma (DEC), Attestation of College Studies (AEC) in insurance, or another relevant field of study.
- Claims Adjuster Licence issued by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF).
- Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation (asset).
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Excel and Word.
- High level of mobility and schedule flexibility.
- Resident of the South Shore of Montreal or surrounding area.
- Full bilingualism in French and English (spoken and written).
