Principal Specialist, Drafting/ Product Definition

Full‑time, onsite position located in Mississauga, Canada.

Responsibilities

- Develop and modify detailed 2D/3D engineering drawings and stack‑ups using CAD software Catia.
- Ensure all drawings comply with industry and company standards, including GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.5.
- Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to support the development of high‑quality products.
- Maintain and update procedure documentation.
- Work autonomously with limited oversight and provide input or guidance to lower‑level professionals.
- Influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures.
- Comply with EH&S; policy and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

- College diploma in Engineering Technology with a minimum of 8 years experience, or Engineering Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Proficiency in CAD software (experience with Catia highly preferred).
- Strong knowledge of drafting principles, GD&T;, and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent written and spoken communication and teamwork skills.




- Microsoft 365 apps proficiency is an asset.

Salary

78,000 CAD – 122,850 CAD.

Additional Requirements

- The selected candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and any applicable clearances related to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.
- Employment is conditional upon successful completion of these checks and obtaining the required clearances; failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of the employment offer.
