Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of technical programs such as: Environmental Monitoring and Supplementary Studies (including groundwater, surface water, soil, vegetation, wildlife, aquatic ecosystems, and air quality)
- Environmental Risk and Impact Assessments
- Biodiversity Surveys and Habitat Assessment
- Environmental Data Management
- Progressive Reclamation Programs
- Environmental Compliance and Management Systems
- Assist in the preparation of a variety of technical and regulatory documents for intended audiences including internal circulation, regulatory review, and rightsholders communication
- Assist in the co-ordination and execution of technical field programs
- Develop a sound knowledge of the company’s operations and the technical requirements imposed by legislation and various permits and licenses
- Remain informed on technical advancements in environmental management and science practices as they relate to Orano Canada sites
Skills and Qualifications
- University degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, toxicology, or relevant discipline; M.Sc. or Ph.D. is an asset
- 3 to 5 years of experience in planning and conducting technical environmental programs and sampling (water, soil, sediment, vegetation, and wildlife) in remote areas and industrial sites
- Demonstrated skills in environmental data analysis and preparation of technical reports
- Eligible for or holding a relevant qualified designation or accreditation (e.g., P.Biol., P.Ag., EP) is an asset
- Demonstrated problem solving, planning, and organizational skills
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Comfortable travelling to remote field sites
Work Location & Schedule
- Saskatoon
- Travel to field sites as required
- 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week
