Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate multiple course developments
- Provide project updates to stakeholders
- Update and maintain project related documentation
- Identify and request resources
- Develop outcome-based learning content that aligns with provided course outcomes
- Collaborate with SMEs
- Assist in the development of deliverables and schedules
- Design learning delivery (concepts, skills, issues, activities, assessments, etc.)
- Incorporate appropriate educational technologies
- Create instructor guides
- Ensure materials that are developed align with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and with NAIT standards
- Work with colleagues to ensure quality and consistency is being maintained
- Build course content developed into the current Learning Management System (LMS)

Skills & Abilities

- Significant knowledge of instructional design and technologies, curriculum, and course development methods and research; and pedagogical and delivery practices in online/blended teaching and learning.




- Knowledge of educational technologies and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Project management and technical skills.
- Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.
- Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts.

Qualifications

- Post‑secondary education in Education, Instructional Design or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in adult learning and/or instructional design or equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
- Experience building courses in a Learning Management System (LMS).
- Experience working in a post-secondary setting is an asset.
- Equivalencies may be considered.

Classification – Advisor/Specialist II

This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.

Remuneration

Compensation range: $77,690.92 – $104,216.78 per year.
