Responsibilities
- Assist the teacher in implementing lesson plans and activities
- Provide one‑on‑one support to students with high needs
- Monitor student behavior and maintain a positive and protected learning environment
- Help with classroom management and organization
- Assist with administrative responsibilities
- Work in the before and after school care program (opening and closing shifts)
- Facilitate washroom routines (including diapers)
Qualifications
- Experience in early childhood education
- Classroom experience working with children
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to effectively teach and engage with young learners
- Proficiency in English and French languages
- Knowledge of childcare and special education practices
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Preferred: familiarity with the Montessori approach and Ontario’s pedagogy, "How Does Learning Happen?"
Additional Information
Hours: Monday – Friday
8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Closed during Christmas and March break
Wages: 6% vacation
$20.37 to $23.86 per hour
