Our energy & resources client is seeking aSenior Business Analyst to to optimize business processes and support investment and capital planning activities, including capital portfolio governance, spend tracking, and reporting

Calgary-based office. Candidates will be working in-office 4 days/week and 1 day WFH. *This is not a traditional IT Business Analyst role*

Must Haves

- 7+ years of experience as aBusiness Analyst or Financial Analyst, orCapital Planning Analyst with a focus onCost control, capital approvals (AFEs) , and capital portfolio management
- Experience with capital portfolio tracking, budget management , and spend governance
- Solid background with Excel and data analysis
- Experience inForecasting, variance analysis , and reporting
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
- Experience inenergy, midstream, utilities, or other asset-intensive industries

Strong Nice to Haves:

- Proficiency in statistical and financial modelling
- Understanding of rail, freight management, carrier selection, and routing optimization
- Midstream experience
- Experience in PowerBI, JD Edwards or Workday

Responsibilities

- Coordinate the capital portfolio governance framework through maintenance of actual and forecast spend data
- Analyze data from JD Edwards, Workday, and internal sources to create storylines
- Support the Operations Planning & Analysis team with preparing, collecting, and organizing documentation
- Track KPIs and distribute reports on operating costs and G&A;
- Ensure accuracy in processes for communicating, evaluating, and storing operations cost information
- Monitor operational performance metrics and identify trends for continuous improvement




- Assist in the implementation of an Integrated Business Planning tool
