About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Manager to lead a team of Mechanical Designers in a custom automation environment. This role combines technical leadership with people management, overseeing custom machine design projects from concept through manufacturing while ensuring quality, resource planning, and on-time project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Mechanical Designers.
- Manage engineering resources and project priorities.
- Review and approve mechanical designs for quality, manufacturability, and compliance.




- Support custom automation projects from concept through manufacturing and commissioning.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Controls, Project Management, and Sales teams.
- Drive engineering standards, continuous improvement, and technical problem-solving.

Qualifications

- 8+ years of mechanical design experience in custom automation, machine building, or special-purpose equipment.
- Previous leadership or team management experience.
- Strong SolidWorks skills.
- Experience with machining, fabrication, pneumatics, hydraulics, robotics, servo systems, and industrial automation.
- Mechanical Engineering degree, diploma, or equivalent industry experience.
