It is SOAHAC's objective to build health care capacity within Indigenous communities.We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our interdisciplinary team in Owen Sound, Ontario. You'll work closely with physicians, traditional healers, community partners, and allied health professionals to deliver accessible, culturally safe,



patient-centered care.Requirements:BScN and current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in the Extended ClassPrimary Health Care Nurse Practitioner CertificateExperience in primary care, chronic disease management, mental health, or addictions is an asset- new graduates are encouraged to applyKnowledge of culture and local Indigenous communities in Southwestern Ontario is requiredStrong organizational skills with the ability to work effectively and independentlyStrong attention to detail and assessment skillsAbility to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary teamAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and across teamsExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearlyComputer literacy including skills in word processing, e-mail, PowerPoint, Excel, and Electronic Medical RecordsWillingness to participate in ongoing Indigenous teachings and ceremoniesValid Ontario Driver's "G" license, personal auto insurance (at least 3 years experience) and clean driver's abstractObtain/ maintain a current and satisfactory police check as a condition of employmentUp-to-date immunizations and recordsResponsibilities:Provide comprehensive primary care services to clients of all ages, including primary prevention, health education, comprehensive physical exams, chronic disease management, antenatal care, and acute/episodic visitsConduct on site assessments, as well as telephone and outreach visitsAdvocate on behalf of clients with regards to equitable access to traditional healing and western health servicesReview client laboratory results,
