The opportunity

The Coordinator Environmental Health is a senior leadershiprole responsible for leading Hobsons Bay City Council’sEnvironmental Health Unit and ensuring the delivery of highquality, compliant and community focused public healthservices. Reporting to the Manager Planning, Building andHealth Services, the role provides strategic direction, managesregulatory responsibilities, leads a skilled team, and workscollaboratively across Council and external agencies to protectand enhance community health, wellbeing and safety.

Whatyou’ll do

• Leadand coordinate Council’s Environmental Health Unit andregulatory services
• Ensurecompliance with environmental health, food safety andpublic health legislation
• Overseeinspections, investigations, complaints and publichealth responses
• Providespecialist advice to Council, businesses andstakeholders on environmental health matters
• Drivestrategic projects,
  
  
  
  continuous improvement initiatives,budgets and reporting requirements

What you need to succeed

• Tertiary qualification in Public & Environmental Health(or equivalent recognised qualification)
• Extensive experience within Environmental Health,preferably in local government
• Strongknowledge of relevant public health, food safety andenvironmental legislation
• Provenleadership experience managing and developing highperforming teams
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication,negotiation and problem solving skills
