The respiratory therapist also participates in education of patients, families and other health care providers. The respiratory therapist will be the primary individual for the Pulmonary Rehab program. This position is focused on pulmonary function testing but also is responsible for education sessions with patients & families regarding Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) & asthma referrals. The successful candidate will be expected to be competent in pulmonary function testing including spirometry, lung volumes and diffusion capacity testing and must have a working knowledge of current ATS standards.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy and currently licensed with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists requiredA minimum of two years' experience in Respiratory Therapy is requiredSuccessful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care Exams requiredCurrent certification in BCLS is requiredProof of completion of an approved COPD Educators program (CRE) or equivalent; or willingness to complete after hiringClinical experience in the relevant practice area preferred (i.E., Respiratory clinic,community-based care,
