- Participate in chemical firefighting tasks
- Provide dangerous goods consulting
- Participate in industrial services
- Respond to emergencies as requested
- Participate in job-specific and health and safety training
- Operate efficiently and safely
- Participate in standby confined-space rescue work
- Complete work-related documentation and reporting
- Follow organizational policies and procedures
- Report workplace hazards, accidents, and other occurrences
- Participate in team and staff meetings when required
- Preserve confidentiality and minimize risk
- Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

- Post-secondary education, preferably in a related area of study
- Pre-service Fire, Medical, or Police training
- NFPA 472 Hazardous Material Operations
- NFPA 1001 Level 1 or 2
- Valid DZ license with a suitable driver's abstract and standard-transmission experience up to 18 speed
- Availability for on-call emergency response work




- Hazardous materials and/or environmental experience is an asset
- Vacuum truck experience is an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Confined-space awareness
- Reliable personal transportation
- Willingness to work at extreme heights and within confined spaces
- Willingness to participate in pre-employment and post-incident drug and alcohol testing
- Qualified, trustworthy, customer-focused approach
- High motivation, service and team orientation, attention to detail, and accuracy
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Bilingual English/French or other languages is an asset
- Valid work authorization in Canada; GFL does not provide visa sponsorship
