Position Overview
The Sheet Metal worker is responsible for fabricating, installing, repairing, and replacing a variety of metal roof and wall systems. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Main Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
- Install, repair and replace standing seam metal roof systems and Metal Wall Cladding System
- Fabricate, install and repair sheet metal roof flashings and related components
- Set up and operate sheet metal fabrication equipment to cut, bend, and form metal materials according to drawings and specifications.
- Read and Interpret Blueprints, shop drawings and work orders.
- Measure and prepare materials for Fabrication and Install.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspection of tools and equipment.
- Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces above or below grade.
- Perform job setup and tear-down, including installing guardrails, safety anchors, and other fall-protection systems.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding to provide safe roof access.
- Participate in safety orientations and training, including relevant sections of the Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, as well as company policies and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area (daily housekeeping).
