Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) / Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) will apply the nursing process to support clients, residents and patients in achieving and maintaining optimal health within a people‑centered approach across acute, transitional, personal care home, primary health care, public health and home‑care settings. The RN/RPN works to full scope of practice, engages in ongoing education and maintains competency congruent with Southern Health‑Santé Sud policies, Professional Standards of Practice, College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba, College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba, Code of Ethics and the Regulated Health Professions Act.

The incumbent exercises appropriate initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, methods and actions on unusual matters. The position functions consistently with the mission, vision, values and policies of Southern Health‑Santé Sud.

Certifications / Licensure





- Current active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba / College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses and scope of practice as defined by the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Acute, Transitional, PCH, Primary Care, Public Health‑Healthy Living, Home Care, Oncology/Cancer Care).
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Current Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) certification.
- Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC) certification.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all‑purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.

Education

- Schipp & VPP and any other courses that are mandatory for the area of work.

Physical Requirements

- Physical and mental demands of the job.
- No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
- Occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
- Requirement to travel to other regional facilities as duties may require.
