Guided by the Notaries Act, the Society sets and enforces the standards of competence and conduct that protect the public interest and maintain confidence in the notarial profession.The OpportunityThe Associate Director, Investigations & Discipline leads the Society's Complaints and Discipline department, overseeing the complaints and discipline process and the member trust audit program — the core of the Society's public protection mandate. Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Discipline Committee, the Audit Committee, and senior management, you will bring sound judgment, strong analytical and communication skills, and genuine care for fair and consistent regulatory process to some of the Society's most sensitive and consequential work.This is a role for someone who wants regulatory work with real impact — leading a team, shaping policy and practice, and representing the Society at hearings and before its committees and directors.What You'll DoDiscipline & InvestigationsAssess complaints and recommend disciplinary action; advise the Discipline Committee on preliminary inquiriesDraft Notices of Hearing, compile evidence, and prepare witnessesPresent on behalf of the Society at disciplinary and penalty hearings,
