- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers, fire safety, lighting, etc.).
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and tenants.
- Complete general repairs (carpentry, painting, plumbing, appliance servicing).
- Maintain grounds and exterior areas (snow removal, lawn care, seasonal upkeep).
- Monitor safety systems such as fire alarms and emergency lighting.
- Assist with suite turnovers and inspections for new residents.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors as needed.
- Provide courteous and professional service to residents and staff.
- Be available for on-call emergencies as required.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years experience in building or facilities maintenance.
- Robust knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire panels, mechanical controls).
- Ability to troubleshoot and complete minor to moderate repairs independently.
- Fireman Boiler Operator Certificate (required).
- Valid Class 5 driver's license; additional safety certifications (WHMIS, First Aid, confined space) are an asset.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform manual work.
- Organized, safety-conscious, and a solid problem solver.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Comfortable using basic computer programs for work tasks.
