The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) is responsible for the safe, reliable, and economic planning and operation of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System. We provide open and non-discriminatory access to Alberta's interconnected power grid and also facilitate Alberta's competitive wholesale electricity market. As we evolve the province's wholesale electricity markets to meet the growing demands of affordability, reliability, and decarbonization, we are seeking a motivated professional to join our Market Design team in a Senior Market Design Analyst role. In this role, you will apply your expertise in economics, engineering, or a related discipline to help design and implement key components of Alberta's restructured electricity market, shaping how the system adapts to the challenges of the future. You bring a strong understanding of Alberta's current market framework, an interest in the changes introduced through the Restructured Energy Market (REM), and a curiosity to explore innovative solutions while engaging with diverse perspectives.This full-time opportunity offers a competitive salary.
