Job Summary
Working under the direction of the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will be an important member of our team with a wide range of responsibilities. The incumbent will be constantly involved on construction sites, identifying issues and solutions key to project success and will monitor manpower, training, schedules, costing, billing, equipment and material requirements, and the coordination of sub‑contractors.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Work with Project Managers, Superintendents, or Project Engineers and report work progress
- Assist Superintendents with daily crew scheduling
- Manage and complete the organization of physical documentation on site
- Assist with planning, scheduling, and coordinating construction activities
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, drawings, specifications, and reports
- Track project progress and ensure deadlines and budgets are met
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and internal teams
- Assist with procurement and delivery coordination of materials and equipment
- Support compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
- Help manage change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and variations
- Ensure all work is completed to high quality standards, conforming to owner and Grey Rock quality control requirements
- Conduct daily field visits with Project Managers, Superintendents, or Project Engineers and report work progress
- Prepare drawings and work packages for Superintendents and other field supervisors
- Work with and report to various Project Managers, Superintendents, and site staff

- Adhere to client and company HSE system
- Lead by example by wearing PPE, seatbelts, observing road rules, and conducting field‑level risk assessments
- Assist with safety meetings
- Ensure the safety of fellow workers
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, And Experience
- Graduate of a post‑secondary degree or diploma in Engineering
- Past work experience within a mining or heavy civil construction environment
- Bilingual in French and English
- Experience with Microsoft Teams
- Experience working a turnaround schedule on remote sites is an asset
- Ability to effectively communicate with co‑workers and supervisors to ensure proper project completion
- Excellent written communication skills
- Working safely is a condition of employment
- Ability to deal with people tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Strong work ethic, willing to get the job done right the first time
- High level sound and independent judgment and reasoning
- Willingness to work in a team setting
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
- Ability to multitask and work within tight deadlines
Working Conditions
The Project Coordinator will work in an office and field in a remote work site. Field work will be required and will require the use of minimum PPE (Safety Glasses, Hardhat, Steel Toe Boots, and reflective vest). The coordinator must be able to freely access all points of a construction site in varying climates and environments.
