Key responsibilities include coordinating shipments, building relationships with carriers, negotiating rates, and maintaining a database of providers during our peak season (September - March).Duties And ResponsibilitiesBook inbound and outbound shipments in a high-volume office with multi-location shipping pointsForge effective relationships with carriers to move shipments to customersEffectively negotiate rates and service requirementsResearch and maintain a comprehensive database of transportation providersIdentify opportunities for cost savings in rates to create a competitive advantageKnowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesTwo (2)



or more years' experience in logistics and transportationProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsIn-depth knowledge of Canadian and US carriers, the transportation corridors and highway infrastructure including basic laws of trucking and border crossingStrong knowledge of North American geographyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSelf-motivated and able to work independentlyExcellent negotiating skillsMust be able to work flexible hours during our peak season (September to March)Reports ToTraffic and Transportation ManagerThe expected hourly rate for this position is $20-28.
