If you’re ready to bring energy and care to a team that keeps moving forward, you’ll find purpose here.NATURE & SCOPEThe Centre Manager is responsible for all daily operations in Health, Fitness and Aquatics at a Membership BranchThe incumbent is accountable for the success of all aspects of Branch operations, meeting targets in all key areas, including contribution levels, member relations and success of the Annual PlanThe incumbent is responsible for the philanthropic and fundraising activities related to their CentreThe Centre Manager is accountable for all staff development and human resource management in the Branch and usually has several direct reports at the Coordinator/Director levelRESPONSIBILITIES:Accountable for the success of core operations and meeting targets in all key areas of the Membership Centre (aquatics, fitness, membership, child, youth and family programs)Achieve annual fiscal,



retention and sales targets as outlined in the annual plan, including contribution level.Develop a Y WAY culture that focuses on program quality assurance, member engagement and customer service with a major focus on member growth and retention.Recruit, train, manage and coach Branch Senior Staff. Provide leadership and direction to Branch Senior Staff related to all Human Resources matters including effective recruitment, training, managing and coaching performance issues.Ensure that all association operating policies, guidelines and requirements are met regarding human resources, risk management and fiscal management as required throughout various applicable Legislation (i.E. Employment Standards Act, Ontario Health and Safety Act, Human Rights Code)The Centre Manager is responsible for ensuring the Branch is compliant with all Health and Safety initiatives and works in partnership with the Health and Safety Committee to investigate issues and to determine appropriate measures are taken to mitigate risk.Engage key community stakeholders to positively position the YMCA in the Niagara communityHelp to develop a strong local philanthropic culture. Provides senior leadership for specific philanthropic events annually.When crisis/emergency situations arise, must demonstrate strong judgment skills to manage and/or escape to the appropriate senior level of leadership to ensure YMCA reputational risks are minimized.Other duties as requiredQUALIFICATIONS:University degree or College Diploma (Recreation & Leisure, Physical Education, Education, Business) and/or related experienceExperience supervising and coaching both staff and volunteers; ability to lead ateam,with strong relationship building,



influencing and persuading skills are essentialMinimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in results oriented health, fitness and recreation program deliveryYMCA Instructor/Trainer Certification an asset2-3 years in a YMCA mid-management role including experience and demonstrated achievements in human resource management, financial management and program managementDiversity of operational experiences from at least two operational areas is an assetMaturity and valuable judgement; the ability to have difficult discussions with a variety of people under stressful conditionsCurrent Intermediate/Standard First Aid/CPR[C]Upon hiring, applicants 18 years of age and older must submit a clear and satisfactory criminal reference check inclusive of the vulnerable sector search (PVSC)issued for the YMCA of Niagara.COMPETENCIES:CommunicationsCommunicates in a thorough, clear and timely manner supporting information sharing and goal achievement across the AssociationLeadershipGuides, motivates and inspires self and others to take action to achieve desired outcomes.Quality FocusEnsures that YMCA programs are superior and identifies issues and acts quickly to resolve problems that threaten quality, service or values.Results OrientedEnsures that success criteria for self, staff and programs are set, reviewed and surpassed regularly to provide excellent service delivery.Business OrientationDevelops plans and takes action with a view to developing programs and services that will generate results.Managing ChangeInitiates and manages change to achieve the strategic outcomes of the YMCA.Coaching and DevelopmentCommits to assisting members, volunteers, staff and self in continuous learning and development.Self Managementworks independently with minimal supervision.
