- Partner with Franchisees and Store Manager on employee relations matters including performance management, compensation, employee engagement and employee relations
- Execute business unit visits (changeover and engagement) working collaboratively with business unit to assess engagement and advise on HR Best Practices
- Conduct discrimination and harassment investigations, providing recommendations and documentation to the business unit
- Partner with the Manager/Owner on CNESST claims and any litigation and act as a trusted advisor on these matters
- Where required inform the business unit on labour and employee relations issues to mitigate risk
- Conduct HR leadership training for business unit on Giant Tiger Talent Development Programs
- Provide Best advice on Modified work, return to work process and health and safety matters
- Act as a conduit between the Manager/Owner and the Centres of Excellence to provide appropriate support
- Complete administrative activities for the business unit and reinforce the self-service model
Requirements
- Bilingualism English and French is required (expert level, conversational French skills)
- Post Secondary education in Human Resources or related discipline; or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a HR partner/advisor role
- Skilled in developing positive working relationships with business leaders
- 3+ years experience coaching and advising managers
- Excellent attention to detail with written work
- Proven ability to effectively communicate in a positive way with internal business units
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate provincial employment law, policies and regulations
- Relevant experience in conducting ER investigations, including Harassment investigations and supporting MOL & Human Rights claims
- The successful candidate must be able and willing to travel as required to support business needs.
