Overview

As the Accounts Receivable Clerk, you will perform moderately complex clerical work. Decisions are made using established precedents or departmental policy.

Responsibilities

- Maintain files including receiving and entering payments, constructing files, and filing.
- Gather data and completes routine reports as required.
- Process receipts from Service Centres including sorting daily cash receipt breakdowns, verifying appropriate supporting documentation, and verifying general ledger accounts and cover codes.
- Correspond with Service Centre Representatives to obtain outstanding or missing information.
- Print and photocopies as required.
- Prepare payment requisitions for Claims Appeal refunds as required.
- Maintain and updates cash receipt breakdown (CRB) and receipts log before filing.
- Maintain the filing of Service Centres’ CRB, Salvage CRB, and Transaction Batch forms.
- Archive files annually or as required.
- Sort and match monthly Special Risk Extension (SRE) brokers’ billing statements and statement of accounts for mailing.
- Ensure all billing statements match with Lawson statements and enquires if they do not.
- Ensure all matched statement locations are grouped with head office mailing lists.
- Maintainsand updates SRE broker mailing/emailing list.
- Maintain and updates mailing labels for envelopes.
- Scan statements for emailing and ensures statements are sent to correct email addresses.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
- Two years of practical experience in an office environment.





Technical Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to learn and/or operate office software and equipment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work with minimal direction and exercise initiative.
- Novice oral and written communication skills.
- Intermediate organizational and time management skills.
- Advanced keyboarding skills.
- Works with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Handles multiple tasks and prioritizes assignments to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Intermediate customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of MPI policies and procedures, as related to products and coverage.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry and the related regulations and acts is an asset.
