Surrounded by mountains, lakes, and endless outdoor recreation, the region is ideal for those who enjoy skiing, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, golfing, or simply spending time outdoors.From the vibrant communities of Nelson, Castlegar, and Trail to the small-town charm of Salmo, Fruitvale, and Christina Lake, you'll find welcoming communities, shorter commutes, excellent schools, and a lifestyle that prioritizes family.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESGeneral welding repairs on trailers, trucks, and custom equipmentPerform custom fabrication of truck, trailer, and heavy equipment components to meet customer specificationsPerform welding repair inspections and time estimates on road equipmentRead and interpret drawings and specifications to determine requirementsComplete Structural WeldingCustomize mobile equipment and/or parts as per the customer's requestProvide welding support primarily in the shop and occasionally in the fieldComplete all required paperwork in a timely mannerDevelop a welding repair process with the Service ManagerWork in a safe manner and follow all safety rules and guidelinesREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSAs a member of the Summit Truck and Equipment Repair team, we expect you to bring the following to the table:Journeyman Red Seal Welder certification1-2 years of experience in commercial truck and trailer welding repairsTeam player who can share his/her knowledge by teaching and coaching junior employeesAbility to work safely in a challenging workplace with minimal supervisionDemonstrated analysis and problem-solving abilityAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding dutiesMust be computer literate and have the ability to learn new programsDemonstrate and promote work-safe practicesPOSITION BENEFITS4 on / 4 off rotation with 11-hour day shifts.
