Assistant Manager – Exor Games

Exor Games is looking for an Assistant Manager to join our team in Charlottetown.

We're a busy local game store built around TCGs, miniatures, events, collecting, and the communities that come with them. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys the hobby, likes working with people, and wants to take on a leadership role in helping the store continue to grow.

This isn't a position where you'll spend your entire day sitting in an office. You'll be on the floor with the team, helping customers, solving problems, running events, working on projects, and stepping in wherever you're needed.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll work closely with our Store Manager and ownership to help keep the store running smoothly. Depending on the day, that could include:

- Being a leadership presence on the sales floor and helping staff when questions or problems come up
- Helping organize and run Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon and other TCG events
- Helping us continue to grow our Warhammer and other miniatures communities
- Organizing things like painting nights, leagues, campaigns and tournaments
- Filling in as an event runner when needed
- Helping coordinate larger events, conventions and off-site events
- Making sure events have the staff, supplies, prizing and product they need
- Training and supporting staff
- Following up on daily, weekly and event checklists
- Helping with scheduling and making sure responsibilities are actually getting completed
- Handling customer questions, complaints and emails professionally
- Helping keep our back stock, office, event supplies and storage organized
- Supporting accurate pricing and shelf labels
- Helping with social media, event promotion, videos and content ideas




- Looking for ways to improve the store instead of simply waiting to be told what to do

Some days will be predictable. Others won't be. If someone calls in sick, an event suddenly gets much busier than expected, a customer has an issue, or something simply needs to get done, we need someone who is comfortable jumping in and helping solve it.

Who We're Looking For

We're much more interested in finding the right person than someone who checks every box on a traditional management résumé.

You'd probably be a good fit if you:

- Have a genuine interest in tabletop gaming, TCGs, miniatures or the hobby industry
- Are comfortable with event management, scheduling and organized play
- Are comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions
- Can lead people without needing to micromanage them
- Are organized and good at following things through to completion
- Communicate well with both customers and coworkers
- Can handle a frustrated customer without becoming frustrated yourself
- Notice things that need to be done and take initiative
- Are comfortable learning different software and systems
- Can stay organized when several things are happening at once
- Understand that retail management sometimes means jumping onto the floor and doing the same work you're asking everyone else to do

Experience with Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon,



Warhammer or organized play is definitely an asset, but we don't expect anyone to know everything we carry. Experience with EventLink, Melee, Discord or similar community/event systems is also helpful, but these can be learned.

The Schedule

This is a retail and events position, so evenings and weekends are part of the job.

We don't want an Assistant Manager whose availability completely overlaps with the Store Manager. Part of the reason for this position is to give the store stronger leadership coverage throughout the week, including times when the Store Manager isn't there.

There may also occasionally be travel for conventions, tournaments, shows or other Exor Games events.

We carry a large selection of trading card games, singles, sealed product, miniatures, board games, accessories and collectibles, and we host organized play and community events throughout the week.

We've grown a lot, and we're continuing to grow. We're looking for someone who wants to be part of that and who takes some pride in helping build a outstanding local game store.
