Big Data Developer – Data Platform (French Speaker)

Location: Montreal (Downtown Montreal / Old Port Montreal) – Remote with 6 days/month onsite

Pay Rate: CAD $65–$70/hour

Contract: 6+ months

Role Overview

Seeking an experienced Big Data Developer to design, develop, and optimize scalable data solutions focused on process automation, data integrity, and performance improvement.

Must-Have Requirements

- 6–10 years of software/data development experience
- Robust hands-on experience with:
- Databricks
- PySpark / Spark
- Python
- SQL
- Git / GitHub
- Docker
- Cloud platform experience (GCP or Azure preferred)
- Strong understanding of:
- Unit testing
- CI/CD
- Code reviews / development best practices
- Experience working in Agile / SAFe environments




- French language proficiency
- College diploma (DEC) or Bachelor’s degree

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop software/data platform solutions
- Build and maintain data pipelines
- Perform unit testing and support QA activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve defects
- Maintain and enhance existing applications
- Participate in peer code reviews

Nice to Have

- Power BI
- Data modeling
- Big Data architecture knowledge
- Experience with architecture tools
- Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS
- GitHub Copilot experience
