Assigned to the Analytical Unit in the Criminal Operations and Intelligence Division, you will be responsible for analyzing information from a variety of sources and making recommendations to address serious, habitual & organized crime issues. Primary duties include:
- Collect, summarize and interpret data and information to produce intelligence and operational enforcement documents aimed at advancing operations and investigations, producing leads and identifying possible offenders.
- Perform tactical analysis utilizing a variety of analytical tools such as ArcPRO, Power BI, Geotime, Excel and i2.
- Prepare comprehensive analytical products focused on issues related to reliable, habitual & organized crime.
- Produce and present written and oral recommendations and provide presentations on identified priorities.
- Conduct communications (including open-source intelligence - OSINT), social network (SNA) and production order analysis to determine viable considerations for investigation, enforcement and further information collection and development.
- Present analytical findings in court and facilitate criminal prosecution by generating written and graphic material to enhance the understanding of the investigative process.
- Initiate and maintain relationships with internal units, as well as appropriate external agencies, to gather and disseminate information and analysis.
- Liaise with partners and external agencies to identify trends and movement from the municipal, regional, national, and international level.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of organized crime issues affecting Canada.
Working Conditions: This position involves exposure to graphic, disturbing, and offensive subject materials, and may require work outside normal business hours. Qualifications
- A degree in Data Science, Social Science, Spatial Analysis or a related field and a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated research and analytical experience within a public safety context; OR
- A Master's degree and a minimum of 1 year of demonstrated research and analytical experience within a public safety context.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research,
formulate/ test hypotheses and provide recommendations is required.
- Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office Excel, Power BI and intermediate to advanced ArcGIS PRO (or equivalent) are also required.
- Proficiency with Palantir, GeoTime, i2, SQL, Power Query and DAX is considered an asset.
- Preference will be given to applicants with experience in roles that focused on organized crime policing.
- Previous experience in writing/presenting recommendations/intelligence analysis is preferred.

Pre-employment Requirements
- An enhanced security clearance and pre-employment polygraph will be conducted.

- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials.

Position Type: 1 Temporary (up to 12 months) and 2 Temporary (up to 23 months)
Compensation: Pay Grade 12 $48.54 - 64.88 per hour
Hours of work: Non-Standard 40 hour work week.
Days of work: This position works 4 10-hour shifts. Some evening and weekend shifts may be required.
