Job Summary
We are looking for a caring, patient, responsible, and compassionate person to provide care for our15-year-old daughter who has special needs. She is non-verbal, wears diapers, and uses a wheelchair. We are looking for a live in caregiver.
The main responsibilities include
- Providing personal hygiene and daily care, including diaper changes.
- Preparing and assisting with her meals according to her needs.
- Assisting with transfers and mobility, including:
- transferring her from the sofa to her wheelchair using a patient lift;
- transferring her from the sofa to her bed using a patient lift.
- Ensuring her comfort, safety, and well-being throughout the day.
- Communicating with her patiently and respectfully, even though she is non-verbal.
- School time get her ready, bring her to the bus stop we have a ramp in front of our porch.
Fluency in French is an key requirement for this position. Our home is primarily a French-speaking environment. Although my daughter is non-verbal, it is important that the caregiver can communicate in French with the other members of our family. We are looking for someone who is reliable, gentle, respectful, patient, and comfortable providing care to a teenager with special needs.
My main focus are Canadian Citizen and Permanent Resident
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care and supervision to child , ensuring her safety at all times
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks, specially Congolese cuisine
- Assist with daily activities such as playtime, learning exercises, and rest periods
- Maintain a clean and organized environment by performing light cleaning duties to support her well being.
- Support my child with special needs or disabilities through personalized caregiving
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere that encourages growth and confidence
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children, including those with disabilities, is preferred
- Ability to cook nutritious meals and perform meal preparation tasks
- Have a knowledge of French Language
- Strong caregiving skills with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities
- Knowledge of cleaning routines to maintain a hygienic environment
- Experience teaching or guiding children in developmental activities is a plus
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: Up to $22.00 per hour
