Construction Estimator / Project Coordinator

Riverstone Excavation & Underground Ltd. is looking for an experienced Construction Estimator / Project Coordinator to join our growing excavation and civil construction company.

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of excavation, earthworks, underground utilities and civil construction who can help us estimate projects, prepare competitive bids and coordinate projects from tender through completion.

This is an important position within our company with the opportunity to grow as Riverstone continues expanding into larger civil, municipal and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

- Review tender packages, drawings, specifications and addendums
- Prepare detailed estimates for excavation, earthworks, water, sanitary sewer and storm systems
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs
- Estimate labour, equipment, trucking, materials and subcontractor costs
- Prepare pricing for roadwork, culverts, site servicing, demolition, clearing and grading
- Request and review supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Prepare and submit professional bids and proposals
- Track tender deadlines and upcoming opportunities
- Assist with project budgets and cost tracking
- Prepare and track change orders and additional work
- Coordinate materials, subcontractors, equipment and project schedules
- Communicate with clients, engineers, municipalities, suppliers and field crews
- Assist with project documentation and closeout
- Review project progress against estimated costs and production
- Help ensure information from the office is properly communicated to the field

Experience & Qualifications
- Previous construction estimating experience required
- Civil, excavation or underground utility experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of water, sewer, storm, earthworks and site servicing




- Able to read and understand civil drawings, specifications, grades and elevations
- Strong quantity takeoff and cost estimating skills
- Understanding of construction equipment, trucking, materials and production rates
- Experience with estimating/takeoff software is an asset
- Experience with Bluebeam and construction bidding platforms is an asset
- Strong computer and organizational skills
- Able to manage multiple estimates and projects at the same time
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Detail-oriented, organized and dependable
- Must be able to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- Own reliable transportation required
